Layla Marcelle (b. 1986) is an american artist engaged with ceramics, choreography, writing, image-making, object-making, materialism, contradiction, homonyms and other doubles, pedagogy, sci-fi and aesthetics of pleasure. She’s done innovative work with the burgeoning love-intergalac-tech industry and performs irregularly as a hologram of Linda Fox. In 2016 she started an anti-entropy design company with Jacob Raeder called Better Lovers, where they apply contemporary dance methodologies to object-making. Her education includes professional contemporary dance training with Modus Operandi, a BA(philosophy) + BFA from Alfred University, an MFA from Simon Fraser University, and training at the SNDO, P.A.R.T.S., and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. In 2020 she received a masters in ceramics from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She is ½ of The Party.
